Don't put all the popular picks on one side. Spread them out so the later rounds stay interesting.
Include wildcards
Add one or two unexpected choices. They make the bracket more fun and give people something to argue about.
Keep reasons short
One sentence per pick is enough. The story comes from the pattern of your choices, not long explanations.
